4 DAYS– Phong Nha to Hoi An

We start our tour from Phong Nha village at 8:00am and ride to Khe Sanh via the west Ho Chi Minh trail, one of our favorite stretches of road. The Ho Chi Minh trail was a legendary road of Vietnam which the Vietcong used to supply to the south during the war.

We drive along the beautiful banks of the Son river up to the top of the national park - full of rice paddies, farmland and local farmers. You'll discovery the remote back roads of the Phong Nha Ke Bang national park and the West Ho Chi Minh trail where few tourists ever go. We ride about 100km through old growth jungle past waterfalls and amazing landscapes. We'll take a stop at the Van Kieu ethnic hill tripe village to see and understand how these people can survive in the most remote place of Vietnam.

We follow the Ho Chi Minh trail through to Khe Sanh passing historic war relics on the way. We'll visit the Khe Sanh compass base  before we check in to the hotel and selebrate a great day with a beer.

We’ll enjoy a nice local breakfast at the hotel, while taking in the scenery before visiting the local market in Khe Sanh. We can explore Khe Sanh compass base and Ta Con airbase before heading out across the famous Dakrong on the Ho Chi Minh trail. Continuing east on highway 9 we follow the Seapon river pass the Rock Pile and stop at some local villages on the way. We'll see beautiful natural springs and waterfalls along our drive, and we'll stop for lunch at local family run restaurant.

In the afternoon we have short stop at Truong Son Cemetery to pay our respects and then keep riding to 17th parallel, stopping at Hien Luong Bridge and Ben Hai river before we explore the Vinh Moc tunnels where the villagers dug tunnels to live in and survive during the war.

Around 4:30pm we'll arrive at Cua Tung beach, and check in to the Hotel. You'll have time to go exploring around the town.

You'll wake up to the sound of the sea and have a nice breakfast before we hit the road again. We'll ride along the coast from Cuz Cua tung beach to Quang tri citadel to view the beautiful beaches, fishing villages and countryside on the way. 

We'll visit the Quang Tri old citadel which was a battlefield in 1972 between North and South Vietnam for 81 days and nights. After lunch at small restaurant we'll ride on to Hue. We'll spend time taking you around the Hue city to visit some famous places such as Thien Mu pagoda, Tu Duc tomb, Tu Hieu pagoda and the Thanh toan bridge.

After breakfast and a delicious Vietnamese coffee, we'll leave Hue and ride to the Tam Giang lagoon to visit a local fishing village and trekking around the lagoon. Here you'll get to meet locals and see how they live and work. As we continue on, we'll stop at Elephant spring where you can go for a swim and relax. 

From here, we press on to Lang Co beach and stop for lunch at good restaurant beside the lagoon. We then drive up to the top of Hai Van pass where you have an emmense and spectacular view over both sides to Danang city and Lang Co bay. We carry on to Da Nang city, stopping at ,the beach and Mable mountain before we arrive in Hoi An around 4:00pm

We'll have covered over 700km on this tour, and have some fantastic stories to tell of our 4 day adventure on the motorbike.
